Warm up your lab

Heat your knife maker lab with heating pots.

One of the problems of many knife makers is to heat their laboratory which very often is:

  • the garage of the house “sacrificed” for their passion,
  • your own cellar,
  • the warehouse in the courtyard,
  • etc.

All locals who usually do not have a heating and that during the winter become very cold and humid places to work.

Many use electric heaters to heat the environment but it is something very expensive if combined with the various electrical equipment always on the move for hours such as the belt sander, drill, flexible and the powerful hardening furnace plus lighting systems.

There is a very simple and cheap method called Heating Pots that has an excellent heating power and that you can do with a few euros and that allows you to warm up every day with very few cents.

This can be a method to heat your knife maker lab with heating pots at a very low cost both to make it and to use it but clearly it also depends on the size of your laboratory.

Here you can find the project that you can download, it is something simple to realize and that you can do with a few euros.

This image below is a gif of a graphic that shows the principle of how this system works and the temperatures that are created with flames of simple candles that you can safely find in packages of 100 at IKEA.

Conclusions

Very cheap and compact, you can make even more than one to place in different places to heat your laboratory with this method of heating pots.

Always be careful to turn it off before leaving the laboratory and do not keep it close when using solvents or other flammable elements!

The electric stove as you know consumes a lot of electricity and this can be a way to give your laboratory a particular appearance but I repeat always be careful because it is a matter of leaving candles lit so always turn them off before going out and be careful if you handle solvents or flammable liquids near.

Today there are many solutions to be able to heat the rooms with excellent energy efficiency but it is also an object that makes the environment where you build your knivescharacteristic.

Personally I believe that the knife maker workshop must also be a pleasant place to stay and also a place to invite your friends maybe to make knives together or to start some friends interested in this beautiful passion.

Personally among the elements that concern safety in the laboratory I recommend you have a fire extinguisher!

Use candles and flower pots to heat a small room more effectively!

Try to warm up your knife maker workshop with heating pots! Send me some photos of the project you used.

Are you experience?
